| Sunday 21 april 2002 was the day for the 22nd edition of the Fortis Marathon Rotterdam . In this year's edition of theinternational Fortis Marathon Rotterdam a good deal of the national and international top runners did participate, together with more than 10,000 other participants of various nationalities. This year Simon Biwott won the race in 2 hours 8'39". A new record was not on the cards because of the warm weather. In sunny Rotterdam temperatures rose beyond 17°C. Kenneth Cheruiyot was again the runner up, despite a nasty fall and a broken arm, in 2:09'43". Best Dutchman was Luc Krotwaar in 5e place with 2:10'58". First woman to finish was Takemi Ominami from Japan in 2.23'43". |  |
