Royal Dutch
Marines Museum
In one of the historic houses along the Wijnhaven next to the "White
House" is the Royal Marines Corps museum. The location is symbolic as this
was the very spot where the corps fought
heavily during the first days of the German invasion of 1940. The corps was
founded in the 17th century to defend the commercial fleet. Apart from four
centuries of martial history there are also displays about recent interventions
like the ones in Bosnia and Cambodia.
