Fashionable department store, with very good fashion (both men's and ladies'), gifts, books, perfumes and designer household goods. The outfit is quite classy and the price tags match the atmosphere. Trendy young fashion department called Chill-out.

Vroom and Dreesmann, Hoogstraat 199

At the opposite end of the Beurstraverse shopping mall is a large branch of the largest department store chain in the Netherlands. The building also houses H&M young fashion store and other smaller shops. Good  place for reasonably priced fashion, kitchenware and many other things. Nationally renowned for its superb self service restaurants and its bakery. Wide range of  and well prepared food, both hot and cold dishes. The main restaurant "La Place" is on the top floor and has a roof garden. A smaller version on ground level "Le Marché" sells wonderful sandwiches and rolls. It also has a street window outlet.

Schmidt  sells 130 types of fish, since 1908,  fresh every day. In the shop front standing tables where you can have a fish platter or sandwich on site watered down with some excellent wines.
